QS Al-Imran (3: 175)
“It is only Satan that suggests to you the fear of his ‘AuIiya [supporters and friends (polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) so fear them not, but fear me, if you are (true) believers.”
QS At-Tawbah (9:18)
“The Mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day; offer prayers perfectly (Iqamat-as-SaIat), and give Zakat and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance.”

Fear that has been legislated / Ghasyiah
The more you increase in knowledge the more you will have fear of Allah subhanawataala. This type of fear stems from knowledge.

3 Types of Fear (Al-Khawf / الخوف)

Pondering upon the science that strikes a fear in the person’s heart. For example : the eclipse.

Fearing the sin of doing a bad deed & the humiliation that comes with it.

Having a constant fear that you will have a bad ending.

Having fear that the good deeds will not be accepted from you.

Taking precaution of the sin.
It is important that a person worship Allah with a balance of fear and hope. Hope that our actions & efforts will be accepted & rewarded. Fear that our deed might not be enough and not be accepted.

Fear that has been prohibited (Al-Khawf Mamnu)

Shirk Fear that leads to shirk by fearing someone/something other than Allah in a way that can only be for Allah.
One can fall into shirk with an action of the heart.

Sinful
Fear that prevents you in doing what pleases Allah : leaving obligations or doing something that is prohibited.
This normally happens if somebody has sickness in their heart.

Natural type of fear such as insects, dog, beasts etc.
